Verdict: 3/5⭐️ - *English* I thought it was another good and exciting book. To be honest, a slightly less thrilling book than the other parts of the series.
In this book I thought that there are too many characters were described. Sometimes I found it hard to follow with too many first and sur names in my opinion. It was great how the police department was described, you just get an internal anger for certain characters and I think they very were well written. How the main character was again worked against, and what she does about it. Everything is well described. Just like the journalist described in each book. I do miss a police officer and somehow she makes a difference in the book.
The setting of the book was again in the city of Southampton, which I still want to visit.
The writing style in this book is good, it is an exciting story with short chapters. There is also something about how the stories pop intertwine and come together at the end. I, myself got a bit confused by all those characters and all those murders. Yes even I got confused, just like the characters! Fortunately, they were all resolved in the book. I thought the beginning was a bit long in introducing all the characters.
The plot twist made me think about how and what, that all those murders were related to each other and how it happened. It is well written but with many storylines mixed together.
Intrigues and relationships throughout the book are very dramatic because everything has something to do with each other. Each character has something going on in each other's lives.
I did enjoy this part. Especially because it had an open ending, which always makes me excited for the next part.
*Dutch* Ik vond dat het weer een goed en spannend boek. Wel eerlijk een iets minder spannende boek dan de andere delen.
In dit boek vond ik dat er wel veel karakters werden beschreven. Soms vond ik het hard te volgen met de met mijn mening te veel voor en achternamen. Wel was het weer top hoe het politie departement werd beschreven, je krijgt gewoon een interne boosheid voor bepaalde personages en dan vind ik dat die dan wel weer goed geschreven zijn. Hoe er weer tegen de hoofdpersoon werd tegen gewerkt, en wat ze er dan tegen doet. Is allemaal goed beschreven. Net als de journaliste die elk boek beschreven wordt. Ik mis een politie agente wel.
De setting van het boek was weer in de stad Southampton waar ik nog steeds een keer naar toe wil.
Hoe de schrijfstijl in dit boek is wel goed het is wel een spannend verhaal met korte hoofdstukken. Hoe de verhalen door elkaar heen gaan en op het einde samen komen heeft ook wel weer iets. Ik zelf raakte een beetje door de war door al die personages met al die moorden. Ja zelfs ik raakte door de war net als de personages! Gelukkig werden ze in het boek allemaal opgelost. Het begin vond ik een beetje lang dradig door alle personages voor te stellen.
De plottwist moest ik even bij nadenken hoe en wat, dat al die moorden toch met elkaar te maken hadden en hoe het kwam. Het is goed geschreven maar wel veel verhaallijnen door elkaar.
Intriges en relaties door het boek heen zij erg dramatisch want alles heeft wel wat met elkaar te maken. Elk personage heeft wel wat in elkaars leven.
Ik had er wel van genoten van dit deel. Vooral omdat het een open einde had, dat vind ik altijd wel wat spannend naar het volgende deel.
